Sega’s iconic character is set to return to the big screen once again. The new trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 reveals the animated film that will hit theaters this December. Directed by Jeff Fowler and voiced by Keanu Reeves, when will it be released?

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 will tell the story of Project Shadow, the character shown at the end of the second movie. This character, voiced by Keanu Reeves, made a big impression when he defeated Knuckles in a battle. In the new movie, it seems that he will ally with his enemy Dr. Robotnik, voiced by Jim Carrey.
James Marsden and Tika Sumpter will reprise their roles as Tom and Maddie in the sequel. We will also see more characters from the game series in the movie. Colleen O’Shaughnessey will voice Tails in the sequel. Idris Elba will return as Knuckles.
Expectations are high for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which will be released on December 20. The animated film, which will only be released in theaters, features names such as Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey and Idris Elba. The Knuckles series starring Elba made a big impact with its first 6 episodes.
The first two Sonic movies grossed over 724 million dollars worldwide. With Fowler leading the old and new actors, it is possible to say that the third production will be a big hit.
